Remi Rabenirina

Remi Joseph Rabenirina was an Anglican archbishop in the last decade of the 20th century and the first one of the 21st.

Born on 6 March 1938, Rabenirina was educated at the University of Madagascar.[1] After a brief career as a school techer he was ordained in 1967. He was parish priest at St James’ Toamasina and then held incumbencies at St Matthew’s Antsiranana and St John’s Ambohimangakely.[2] In 1979 he was appointed the Bishop of Antananarivo, resigning in 2008; and in 1995 Archbishop of the Indian Ocean, resigning in 2005. An author [3] he is Chevalier, Officier et Commandeur de l’Ordre National (Malagasy) .
